CHRISTOPHER MAY as Mike Love
Christopher
may have grown up in the small Northeastern town of Lake Hopatcong, New
Jersey, but the Beach Boys were always a part of his world. Summers
spent at the Jersey Shore were dipped in their music. They had the
ability to transport you to a place where the sun shone brightly on the
surf, guys cruised around with their car tops down, and beautiful women
strolled the beaches like unrivalled goddesses. The Beach Boys
represented what California must be like to a young man growing up
3,000 miles away.
Christopher has been a working actor and singer for most of his life.
As an actor he has appeared in numerous feature films including most
recently “Lions For Lambs” directed by Robert
Redford and “Believers” from the makers of
“The Blair Witch Project”. On television he has
guest starred on such shows as “CSI: NY”,
“Cold Case”, “The Shield”,
“The Riches”, and “Monk”.
As a singer, Christopher spent eight years in the a capella pop
quartet, JQ and the Bandits.
For Christopher, the music of the Beach Boys has always provided great
happiness. It is his truest desire that SURFIN’ SAFARI® can
transport you to the warmth and joy of an endless summer.
DAN CARSON as Brian Wilson
Dan is a guitar player.
He’ll be the
first one to tell you that, and not the bass guitar, either. But
somehow he always “gets stuck” playing the bass.
Fortunately for SURFIN’ SAFARI® and the numerous bands Dan has
played with in his career, he’s become a great bass player.
So much so, that in his years portraying Paul McCartney, Dan has taught
himself how to play left handed; no small task indeed. Much like Brian
Wilson was for the Beach Boys, Dan is the musical ear of
SURFIN’ SAFARI®. Along with his beautiful counter tenor voice,
his gift for picking out intricate vocal parts and harmonies is a major
key to the authentic sound of SURFIN’ SAFARI®. Portraying one
of his greatest idols and singing some of the greatest songs in history
have made Dan a very happy bass player.
RICK PIZANA as Carl Wilson
Rick
is a
musician’s musician. Since
the day he was given his first guitar he’s been taking them
apart and putting them back together again. Duly elected as the
group’s “axe” doctor, Rick usually knows
more about guitars and amps (and what makes them tick) than the folks
who made them in the first place.
Often perceived as the “quiet” member of
SURFIN’ SAFARI®, Rick does plenty of talking with his Fender
Jaguar and his Rickenbacker. While an accomplished guitarist in his own
right, it is Rick’s note for note reproduction of Carl
Wilson’s lead guitar that lie at the heart of
SURFIN’ SAFARI’s soaring surf sound.
MIKE SARAFIAN as Dennis Wilson
A Southern California native, Mike began
drumming when he got his first set of drumsticks at the age of twelve.
He was in his first tribute band by twenty-one portraying a little
known drummer in an obscure band from Liverpool, England. Known for his
flawless playing and his impeccable attention to detail and accuracy,
Mike has become one of the most respected and sought after
“Ringos” in the tribute world.
But there was always another drummer from the 60’s that
earned Mike’s respect and admiration; Dennis Wilson. Playing
in his signature open mouthed, left handed style, Mike captures Dennis
to a tee.
Mike is the founder of SURFIN’ SAFARI® and could not be more
proud than to be a part of bringing this great music back to the world.
BENJAMIN CHADWICK as Al Jardine
Nobody
deserves to wear Beach Boys stripes more than Benny Chadwick. A fan of
the group since before he was born, Benny is an encyclopedia of Beach
Boys knowledge.
Combine that with the fact that he is an exceptionally gifted musician
who can play practically anything he puts his hands on with a voice
that was made for this music and you’ve got a true Beach Boy
in the making. If Benny had been born in Hawthorne, California in 1940,
he would have given Al Jardine and David Marks a run for their money as
to who would be the fifth Beach Boy.
Lest one think Benny is perfect, he’s not. He’s got
a fever.
And the only prescription for that fever is…
MORE COWBELL BABY!
ROCK ON!
